Introducing Instant Onboarding with Dash

Dash now guides new customers through setup in a conversation, helping you find relevant opportunities, configure workflows around your role, and put recurring work on a schedule.

By GovDash Product Team

Your first session in GovDash starts with your work. What are you trying to accomplish? What takes up too much of your day?

Dash, your AI teammate, uses those answers to help you get started. For business developers and capture leads, that can mean finishing onboarding with relevant opportunities already in your pipeline. For proposal and contracts teams, it means setting up the workflows that fit your responsibilities.

From your first login, Dash helps turn setup into useful work.

Start with a conversation

When you log in, Dash will walk you through five sections: your profile and goals, integrations, reusable skills, product workflows, and agents. Each section builds on what you’ve shared, keeping the experience focused on your priorities.

1. Tell Dash what you want to accomplish

Dash confirms your role and work functions, then asks why you signed up for GovDash and what work takes the most time in your day. If your role is already in your profile, Dash uses that information without asking again.

Your answers guide the rest of onboarding, from which workflows to configure to what recurring work an agent could handle.

For leaders bringing a team onto GovDash, this gives each person a role-specific starting point.

2. Connect the tools your team uses

Dash checks which external systems your team works with, including SharePoint, Salesforce, eBuy, GovWin, Teams, Slack, and MCP connectors. Learn more about the full list of GovDash integrations here.

Dash creates a connection checklist and guides you through setup in Settings, where you’ll enter your credentials securely. If a connection requires permissions you don’t have, Dash saves it for later and moves on. You can continue onboarding while your administrator handles the connections.

3. Give recurring tasks a reusable starting point

A skill is a reusable set of instructions that tells Dash how to carry out a task. Think of it as an SOP for your AI teammate, capturing your team’s process, requirements, and preferred output so Dash can follow them each time.

skill

Dash reviews the skills already available to your team. If there’s a gap, it recommends a specific skill matched to your recurring work and presents it for one-click approval.

This helps you build on what your team already has and gives Dash a repeatable process for the work you do again and again.

4. Put your workflows to work

Dash helps configure the workflows that fit your role, whether you work in business development, capture, proposals, or contract management.

For example, BD and capture teams get started with Discover and Capture workflows. Dash searches for relevant opportunities, adds the ones you approve to your pipeline, and helps set up phases, opportunity fields, capture plan templates, and saved search filters around how your team pursues work.

Already tracking pursuits in a spreadsheet? Upload an Excel or CSV export, and Dash proposes how your existing phases, fields, and opportunities should map into GovDash before importing anything.

Contract teams get help discovering documents in a connected SharePoint and taking a useful next step, such as verifying an award or building a reusable past-performance section. Proposal teams follow a dedicated Proposal onboarding flow.

Each path helps you get started with the tools and information that matter to your work.

5. Keep recurring work moving with agents

Dash reviews enabled ProTeam agents and existing custom agents, then recommends an option that fits your work.

Where appropriate, it recommends an agent with an automatic trigger so recurring tasks can run on schedule without you remembering to start them. Every change goes through the standard approval step.

Pick up where you left off

Your progress stays in a single onboarding thread. After each section, Dash summarizes what’s done, what was decided, and what comes next.

If you log out partway through setup, GovDash directs you back to your onboarding thread when you return. You can resume the same section, skip a section, or skip the rest of onboarding at any time.

Dash tracks completed work to avoid repeating setup or creating duplicate skills, integrations, search profiles, or agents. If you want to revisit the experience later, just ask Dash to restart onboarding.
